Sigma beams

Weland Sigma beam is a cold-formed profile with a low weight and high strength.

The Sigma beam is manufactured in 3 different standard heights: 200, 300 and 400 mm. Each height is available with 5 different material thicknesses: 2, 2.5, 3, 4 and 5 mm. The beam can be supplied in lengths ranging from 300 to 12000 mm, with an interval of 50 mm.

The design of the Sigma beam means that it is possible to join two beams to make a single profile by screwing the beams together. The Sigma beam is very well suited to e.g. mezzanine constructions. See more about mezzanines.

The beams have punched holes with a separation of 50 mm, which is adapted to our assembly fittings and railing systems. This means that assembly can be performed quickly and easily, with no need for welding.
The Sigma beams are so light that they usually do not require lifting assistance. There are also large holes in the centre of the beam for rooting electrical cables and pipes.

A material grade with an expansion limit of 250 N/mm² is standard for the Sigma beam. We can also offer Sigma beams in materials with an expansion limit of 350 N/mm² in a hot dip galvanised version.

The beams are hot dip galvanised in material Z 275 and can be used both indoors and outdoors, without any additional surface treatment.

Fixed lengths

Weland stocks Sigma beams in lengths of 4600, 5200, 6000 and 7200 mm for immediate delivery. The beam is 300 mm high and has a material thickness of 2.5 mm. The expansion limit is 250 N/mm². We also cut beams according to your wishes.

Beam joint/Corner joint

We stock beam joints (length 500 mm) and corner joints for all Sigma beam heights.

Sectional railings in steel that can be assembled entirely without welding, are available as an accessory, see more under railings.

Fittings

Weland stocks a number of different fittings that make it easy and stable to join Sigma beams together into the desired constructions. Everything is based on screwing them together using existing holes in the Sigma beams and fittings.

Used for right-angled corners and other right-angle joins of Sigma beams at the same height.

Corner joints for all Sigma beam heights are kept in stock.

Adapter

Used for right-angled corners and other right-angle joins of Sigma beams at different heights (400 and 300 mm respectively). In other words, when a secondary beam with a height of 300 mm is to be joined to a primary beam with a height of 400 mm.

Adapter angled

Used for right-angled corners and other right-angle joins of Sigma beams with heights of 400 and 300 mm respectively, but where the secondary beam (height 300 mm) can be angled (gradient) max ± 5.7°. For example, to obtain water run-off for roof constructions.
