Weland first with new flexible and environmentally friendly fiber laser technology
Weland AB is now investing SEK 30 million in three Laser Cutting machines with a brand new fiber laser technology from the Italian manufacturer Adige (www.blmgroup.com). This investment will increase flexibility in production and reduce energy consumption at its plant in Smålandsstenar.
Weland AB, part of the family-owned Weland Group, is Sweden’s largest producer of laser-cut sheet metal parts.
- Much of our success is because we invest in new production solutions. The Adige LT Fiber, are the first machines of its kind in the country. For example, we will now be able to laser-cut highly reflective materials such as aluminum so that we can broaden our capacity to customers. This technique also reduces our electricity and maintenance costs, said company CEO Jonas Welandson.
New but proven technology
Fiber Laser is a compact, efficient and reliable method and has for a long time has been used in several other areas. Adige now makes it possible to use this technology on metals to give a number of advantages over traditional laser technologies:
Appears on technical trade fair
In association with the first fiber laser machine being delivered in the autumn, it will be shown at the Tekniska Mässan in Stockholm October 19 to 22. Swedish Adige agent Edström Maskin AB (www.edstroms.se) will also be holding a workshop on the revolutionary fiber laser technology. – We believe that this technology will provide great opportunities for manufacturing companies in Sweden. Especially with the demand for energy savings, faster production and diverse types of materials, said Edström Machine's CEO Ola Andersson.
