Weland AB is a family-owned manufacturing company. Workshops and head office are situated at Smålandsstenar. Since its start back in 1947, Weland AB has passed through a considerable expansion of its business activities. However, even though the company has grown to its present size the objective is still the same, to be flexible and offer the same service to all our customers no matter how big or small.

At Smålandsstenar we employ approx. 250 people and have an available workshop area of approx. 60,000 square metres. Here we manufacture pressure-welded grating, the backbone of Weland´s business since the nineteen sixties. We also manufacture spiral staircases for indoor and outdoor applications, straight flight staircases, railings and other steelwork.

Weland Stål AB at Ulricehamn manufactures and stocks a complete range of roof safety products. Right from the beginning back in 1980 we have conducted an intensive development of products. During this process we test the products in our own plant, in the same way as performed by the SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden. Nowadays we invest a lot of work in the development of deformation zones intended to check sudden falls. Fixing components are developed based on the requirements and points of view from the fitters involved. We draw profit from our own experience and the feedback from our retailers, users, branch organisations, union representatives and others.

Weland Stål roof safety products are certified, which means that the SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden carries out the testing and certification in accordance with the prevailing standards and demands.

Floby Durk´s well-known slit grating has been manufactured for many years and is used for industrial flooring, staircases, ramps etc. Spiral staircases for indoors and outdoors applications are other well-known products from Floby Durk. Ulricehamn is one of southern Sweden´s biggest skiing resorts. Skiing fans from Denmark and Germany come here for skiing both downhill and cross-country. The skiing center of Ulricehamn has 6 lifts and 6 downhill tracks giving the skier a lot of pleasure.

The skiing plant is continuously rebuilt and extended. A new and larger ski shop, a new and larger restaurant and the widening of the main slope are examples of the investments carried out during the recent years.

In 1978 Weland acquired this traditional hot dip galvanizing plant situated on Hisingen, in the centre of Gothenburg. Abundant lifting height and long pickling and galvanizing baths permit hot dip galvanizing of goods with up to 12 metres length.

Compact Logistic System AB was established in 1999 at Smålandsstenar with the development and production of the automatic storage lifts Compact LIFT and Compact TWIN. Weland entered the company as joint owner in 2001

The same year followed the acquisition of R Wingård AB at Västerås, since 1976 supplier of products for rational storage handling and appropriate work place equipment to Swedish companies. Before that R. Wingård used to be retailer for Compact storage handling systems.

In 2003 Weland AB acquired the previous Continental premises at Gislaved. We then moved to theses spacious and well suited premises and started there the new production of pallet stands and cantilever racks. This move also offered improved possibilities for development and production.

On July 1st 2006 we changed our name to Weland Lagersystem AB. We did that to accentuate our bonds with the group and the resources behind it. Weland Lagersystem AB has sales offices at Gislaved, Göteborg and Västerås and is now a fully owned Weland company

In 2001 the decision was taken to liquidate the production of Continental make tyres at Gislaved. Production had been running since 1970, and now in July 2002 the last tyre had been manufactured. Almost 800 people lost their work, and premises covering 67,400 square metres stood empty and were in need of tenants.

Out of the different companies interested to take over Weland´s concept was judged to be the strongest, and in 2002 Weland bought the premises and established Weland Industricentrum.

Weland Lagersystem occupies a portion of the premises, whereas the other part is hired by a couple of companies coming from different branches for use as production and office premises. Apart from that the premises also accommodate restaurant and boarding house activities.

Confidence has replaced all future fears of large and deserted factory premises. The presence is a flourishing business centre offering employment to hundreds of people

SP was founded in 1978, in the little village Lillarp right in the middle of the Småland forests. Activities started with service and repair of different forestry machines, but soon switched to design and manufacture. In 1980 SP designed and manufactured the world´s first single-grip harvester head SP 21 revolutionizing the professional forestry. The success for the new technique from SP-Maskiner continued during the eighties, more harvester head models were designed.

Back in 1944 began our battle against the dreadful dirt from the street. A doorkeeper engaged at the Enskilda Banken in Stockholm became sick and tired of having to sweep up the dirt from the street. The doorkeeper, being an ingenious man, had an idea. He gathered a couple of wooden staves and some rubber strips and tacked them together. This became the first Kobe mat. AT Installation started its activities back in 1956 under the name of Antenn- & Teleservice in connection with the introduction of TV in Sweden. Together with amongst others HSB (The Savings and Construction Association of the Tenants) we developed the central aerial system for blocks of flats

When our activities were extended to comprise more than just aerials, we changed our name to AT Installation. From the beginning we have steadily developed as specialists for planning, installation and servicing cable-TV based upon both coaxial cable and fiberoptical systems.
